Originally founded in 1976 by Lucille and Richard Lewin, Whistles taking it’s name for rhyming slang for suit began as one small store in Marylebone selling young designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Dries Van Noten and John Galliano. Under the guidance of Lewin the brand went from strength to strength with the creation of an own brand label securing a reputation as the UK’s leading multi label boutique. In 2001 Whistles was bought out by Richard Caring who went on to sell to Karen Millen a year later. In 2004 Whistles found a new home under the Mosaic Brands Umbrella and became the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ in one of the UK’s leading fashion groups.

 

 

THE COLLECTION

The Whistles collection is conceived by an in house design team offering well crafted, collectable pieces using its rich brand heritage in eclectic, colourful styles and twist on seasonal trends. It’s the destination store for women who consume beautifully designed one off pieces, each able to stand in its own right. The collection offers a uniquely designed range with a focus on print, colour and embellishment brought to life through the vision and foresight of dynamic design duo Sam Sestili and Winni Lok. The customers love for uniqueness inspires the design team to source from an eclectic base of inspiration ranging from vintage finds to modern day prints all lovingly created with the Whistles customer in mind.
